Alert: Shooting reported on Bald Cypress Rd.

Alert:

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office is on the scene of a shooting. The event took place on Bald Cypress Rd. in the northern part of Davidson County.

A female was rescued from a vehicle at a residence on Bald Cypress Rd. with multiple gun shoot wounds, her conditions are not known at this time. We can confirm at this time that no one in the area is in danger.

Sheriff's Office units will be in the area for a long period of time, so please avoid this area.

Update:

On January 16, 2025, at approximately 7:50 A.M. Deputies from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 171 Bald Cypress Dr. Winston-Salem, NC, (Davidson County), In reference to a domestic dispute. Responding deputies were then advised that a 75-year-old female at the residence had been shot by her 95-year-old husband. Upon arrival, the female was found sitting in a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence suffering from several gunshot wounds. The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, (S.E.R.T), members successfully rescued the female from the vehicle in front of the home. The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team then made entry into the home and found the 95-year-old male deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The female was transported by Davidson County EMS to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and is listed in serious condition. Detectives from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office
