Raleigh, N.C. –Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) appointed Sen. Steve Jarvis (R-Davidson County) to eight committees for the 2025-26 legislative biennium. Additionally, Sen. Jarvis was tapped to serve as the Co-Chair of the Regulatory Reform Committee.

Sen. Jarvis will serve on the following committees during the biennium:

  • Co-Chair, Regulatory Reform

  • Member, Agriculture, Energy and Environment

  • Member, Appropriations/Base Budget

  • Member, Commerce and Insurance

  • Member, State and Local Government

  • Member, Transportation

  • Member, Appropriations on General Government and Information Technology

  • Member, Joint Legislative Commission on Government Operations

Legislative committees are the bedrock of the legislative process. They are where bills are debated, amended, and receive significant public input.

“Sen. Jarvis is well-versed in the matters that will come before the committees that he will serve on. I’m thankful for Sen. Jarvis’ willingness to bring his expertise to the committees, and I look forward to seeing the work he accomplishes this biennium for his constituents and the state,” Sen. Berger said.

Sen. Jarvis said, “I am honored to be appointed to these new committees for the biennium and eager to dive into the important work of lawmaking. Serving the people of my district and the great state of North Carolina remains my highest priority, and I look forward to working together to address the critical issues facing our communities."
