Press Release: Lexington Police Department arrests suspect wanted by multiple agencies

LEXINGTON, NC – On September 21, 2023, Lexington Police received an anonymous call about a suspicious vehicle and potential wanted person. Officers responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the description on Northview Drive. The arriving officer began investigating and identified 46-year-old Luther Allen Stanley as a person wanted by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and Davie County Sheriff’s Office. When Officers attempted to arrest Stanley for the outstanding warrants, he began to fight and assault officers.

Officers were able to take Stanley into custody with no serious injuries to anyone involved. It was determined that the vehicle Stanley was in was stolen. Stanley was charged by Lexington Police Department officers with assault on a law enforcement officer, resist, obstruct and delay, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen motor vehicle, possession of precious metals and possession of stolen property. Stanley was also served outstanding warrants from other agencies for larceny of motor vehicle, larceny of firearm, two counts of felony flee to elude arrest, possession of stolen motor vehicle, speeding and reckless driving. Stanley is being held in the Davidson County Jail on a $60,000 secured bond with a court date of October 10, 2023.
