Breaking News: Christo's on Cotton Grove Road sustained damage from fire

At 4:15 a.m. on August 26th, the Lexington Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1718 Cotton Grove Road at Christos Restaurant.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke pushing from the rear of the restaurant and established an offensive interior fire attack. A second alarm was requested due to the heavy smoke conditions.

After extinguishing the fire an extensive overhaul was performed to ensure there was no remaining fire. The incident was then turned over to the Lexington Fire Marshals Office for investigation. The building sustained moderate fire and heat damage and major smoke damage.

Assisting in the incident were the Lexington Police Department, Davidson County EMS, South Lexington, Central and Linwood Fire Departments.

No injuries were sustained by firefighters or civilians. Highway 8 was closed for a few hours and has now reopened.
