Out of an abundance of caution, Thomasville Middle School and Thomasville High School are on lockdown at this time as police investigate. Additional information will be communicated within the next hour.

Thomasville City Schools and Thomasville Police Department have confirmed that no shots were fired at Thomasville High School. There are no injuries, no one wounded. Police are investigating individuals who came to campus and trespassed on grounds. These individuals are in custody of the police. Police remain on campus and students at Thomasville High School and Thomasville Middle School remain on lockdown out of an abundance of caution and to complete any investigating and securing of campus. Students and staff are secure in the building. Please do not come to the area. An additional call will be made once the lockdown is lifted.

As of 12:30pm on October 21, 2021 the lockdown at Thomasville High School and
Thomasville Middle School has been lifted. Law enforcement confirms there was no
weapon found on campus. The investigation continues and no injuries have been
reported. The individuals who trespassed on school property are currently in police
custody. All students and staff are safe and secure. We will resume the normal school
schedule at 12:30.
