One of the most exciting moments of the night will be a special raffle honoring former dedicated CSDC employee, the late Gary M. Drake. The raffle began with 300 tickets being available at $100 each. The winner of the raffle will receive $10,000. All of the proceeds go directly to providing care for cancer patients in Davidson County.

CSDC provides emotional, physical and financial support to individuals in Davidson County who are fighting cancer by sourcing a variety of equipment and supplies for loan such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs, bedside commodes and hospital beds. CSDC carries a limited amount of ostomy supplies, as well as adult briefs and nutritional supplements such as Boost and Ensure. For women who have had breast cancer, CSDC provides prostheses, bras and wigs. In addition, CSDC offers financial support to patients who qualify based upon their income level. This is done in two ways, by helping provide prescription drug assistance for patients and by helping to pay for the cost of prescription drugs and medication for conditions related to cancer treatment. Transportation reimbursements are also available to patients based upon how many miles they travel to receive treatment and/or see a doctor. CSDC provides emotional support through a variety of ways that center around individual relationships with cancer patients including telephone communication and two support groups that meet each month. The SHARE (Sharing Hope and Recovery Experiences) and the Leave Your Cancer at the Door meetings are both held at the CSDC office located at 25 W. 6th Ave. in Lexington, on the second and third Thursdays of the month
