It is another exciting weekend in Davidson County and despite the forecasted weather, there are still lots of reasons to get out and enjoy the local fun. Here is a list of events in the area that we hope to see you at.

AUG. 8

  • Smoke & Oak - It’s gonna be too rainy the next few days, so join us for a Hurricane Debby party with $10 Hurricanes all day from 1 p.m until 9 p.m.

  • The Life Center - Port-a-Pit Chicken Fundraiser at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Since 1980 The Life Center of Davidson County has been providing the highest quality of care to older and impaired adults at an affordable cost. To make this happen, as a non-profit agency, we must have fundraisers. We will be hosting our annual Port-a-Pit BBQ chicken meal fundraiser on Thursday August 22, 2024 from 11:00am- 2:00pm. Tickets must be sold in advance and are now available for $13 per ticket and includes 1⁄2 BBQ chicken, slaw, baked beans, a roll and dessert. Delivery is available for orders of 10 or more, consider treating your entire staff to a delicious lunch.   • “Our House” Community Table Cookout - Harris Park 206 Wilfred Avenue in Lexington. Free event for the entire community, lots of fun, fellowship and free food. Join us for our first community cookout!
    Bring your table and chairs and help us create the longest community table in Lexington. We will laugh, dance, talk, reminisce and share, together on this day.
    Let’s turn off the phones and play board games, cards, dodge ball, 1-2-3 red light, corn hole, and more, just like we did growing up in Lexington!
    Pack up your table, chairs and blankets, then meet us at the park on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Come out and see your neighbors at a great cookout.
