Blessed are those who thirst for Righteousness

As believers we may not be able to know the depth of thirst that people may be going through,But there are times when we thirst and may be unable to quench the thirst that we long for. Matthew 5:6 teaches us, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
The vision of righteousness brings about the healing and renewal we do desperately need.

As believers if we are left to feed our own righteousness, we will starve, but it’s only when we seek God and depend on him to fill us with his righteousness, only then will we be totally satisfied.
The more we seek the Kingdom of God, the more we will be filled by his goodness.
Blessed are those who thirst for righteousness.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirst for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42: 1-2
As believers when we thirst for righteousness the word of God teaches us, whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water will become the fountain springing up with everlasting life. John 6:35

With righteousness, once we get a taste of it, and thirst for it. The thirst for righteousness grows and we should continue to keep feeding that desire to satisfy our lives if righteousness. We are called to a Holy living as believers. We are called to live lives of holiness to God, which is a sweet savor to him.

We should be willing to thirst after God on a daily basis, thirsting after God needs to be a vital part of our lives. Sometimes we may find that thirsting after righteousness is not easy, in fact in A-lot of ways it’s extremely difficult.
Being thirsty is unpleasant, it’s something most of us try to avoid. Jesus is telling us you should not ignore your thirst for doing what is right. If we genuinely thirst for righteousness we will be satisfied, we will always be filled with righteousness,
If we truly seek to be filled with his righteousness.

Do we truly desperately frantically hunger and thirst for righteousness in our lives, and in the world around us.
In the New Testament, Jesus speaks to a Samaritan women in John 4:19, stating “ If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, Give me a drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water”
Living water is a symbol of Salvation, and the true knowledge of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
God will always supply us with the water we need, whenever we thirst for righteousness.

As we meditate on the word of God this week let us remember,
If we are faithful to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God, we will be satisfied in him, even in a fallen world.
We will always be Blessed because of our thirst for righteousness.

May God So Richly Bless!
