Davidson County Commissioner Chris Elliott is adding District 11 Director to his 20-plus years of public service. Every North Carolina Association of County Commissioners district director serves as a key conduit for information sharing between the board of directors and their districts, communicating local issues that need attention. Additionally, they represent the association locally, helping to establish relationships with area stakeholders, such as municipalities, regional planning organizations, civic groups, community service organizations, colleges/universities, schools, faith-based groups and others.

The NCACC has 18 multi-county districts represented by directors elected to two-year terms, who also serve on the NCACC Board of Directors.

Commissioner Elliott was elected to represent District 11 for 2024 and 2025. Davidson County commissioners have held this office three times since 1985. The late Commissioner Fred Sink, Fred McClure and current NC House representative Sam Wattford have served as district director as well. "I want to continue the vision I’ve had from day one. Invest in our North Carolina Public Safety Heroes, strengthen our North Carolina youth and education opportunities and protect the quality of life and the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis," Elliott offered. "In everything I do to God be the Glory!!"

District 11 covers Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Guilford, Randolph and Rockingham counties.

Elliott wrote, "It’s an HONOR to be elected by my fellow commissioners in District 11 to represent them on the NCACC Board of Directors for the next two years. Since 1985, only three other Davidson County commissioners have been elected for this position and I don’t take that lightly.”

District directors also serve as mentors to newly-elected commissioners from their districts. The newly elected district directors will assume their roles this fall, when they are officially sworn in along with fellow members of NCACC’s board of directors. The association provides expertise to counties in the areas of advocacy, research, risk management and education and leadership training.

Elliott serves as the Safety & Risk manager for Rockingham County government and has worked in the public sector for both Davidson and Davidson counties for two decades.

He has achieved multiple MESH designations for construction, general industries and the public sector. Elliott studied Occupational Safety and Health at North Carolina A&T University.

He is an authorized OSHA 10- and 30-hour instructor for general industry and construction with the Southeastern OSHA Training Institute, has studied facility engineering, facilities energy management, project management and has attained a Maintenance & Reliability Management diploma from NC State University and the Marshall Institute.

Elliott is a Certified Workers Compensation Specialist with the Wickstrom Institute. He is a graduate of the Institute of Christian Education and has been an ordained minister since 2014. He is currently seeking his North Carolina Public Insurance Adjuster license.

A long-time resident of Davidson County, Elliott resides in the Central Davidson area with his wife, Shannon, son, Mason, and daughter, Riley.
