Free events to help you get into the Christmas spirit

With December only a day away, many businesses, churches and organizations have planned events to celebrate the Christmas season. Below are events taking place from Wednesday, November 30 until Sunday, December 11. All happening are open to the public, family friendly and free free free! Enjoy!

Journey to Bethlehem
Where: Faith Community Chapel, 345 Faith Chapel Rd., Thomasville
Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm nightly

You’re invited! Take an adventure back in time and experience the birth of Jesus from a perspective you will not soon forget. Bring your entire family and enjoy the ninth annual JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM November 30th - December 4th, 2022, from 6:00-9:00pm each evening! Drive thru....with your Cars, Buses, and in Carpools! Winter Wonderland Light Festival 2022

Journey to Bethlehem
Where: Tyro United Methodist Church - 4484 S NC Hwy 150, Lexington
Time: 6:00pm-8:30pm

As a Christmas gift to all, Tyro UMC will present Journey to Bethlehem. You and your loved ones are invited to celebrate the birth of Jesus as you travel with Mary and Joseph on their journey to Bethlehem.  Once you pass the manger you will drive through over 30 scenes featuring live animals and over 150 actors depicting favorite Bible stories and the life of Jesus.  Along the way you will be able to listen to music and a message through your car radio. Many have made this special event a holiday tradition and we welcome you to begin this holy season with us.

Saturday, December 3

3rd Annual Pancakes & Pajamas with Santa
Where: Midway United Methodist Church - 9795 Old US Highway 52, Lexington
Time: 8:00am-11:00am

Come join us for a FREE pancake breakfast with Santa! Be sure to wear your pajamas & bring your holiday cheer! While waiting for your photo with Santa, you can write your Christmas list & mail it to the North Pole or enjoy a holiday craft. We look forward to seeing you there!

Where: Friendship United Methodist Church - 2840 Friendship Church Rd., Lexington
Time: 8:00am-10:30pm

Serving Pancakes, Sausage, Juice and Coffee. Fun Holiday Activities and Pictures with Santa! Kids of ALL Ages Welcome! Come, Join Us for some Christmas Fun!

The Grinch @ Finch
Where: Finch Park - 15 Paul Beck Rd., Lexington
Time: 9:00am-11:00am

He's a mean one, Mr. Grinch... but he is stopping by Finch Park so your little Who's can get a picture with him! This is a FREE EVENT, and people who pre-register will receive a personalized letter from the Grinch himself! Pro tip – bring the whole family and get a unique Christmas card this holiday season!

Sign up online at registration.lexingtonnc.gov! **Pre-registration will close on Thursday 12/1 at midnight. You are still welcome to come even if you are not registered, but ONLY those who pre-registered will receive a personalized letter from the Grinch** The line will form beside Shelter 4, and pictures will be done in the order people arrive.

The Holiday Market at The Depot
Where: Lexington Farmers Market - 129 S. Railroad St., Lexington

Join us for the Annual Holiday Market at the Depot! Get in the Christmas mood (if you aren't already!), get some great local foods, and buy local handcrafted gifts for your loved ones. Cookies with Mrs. Claus
Where: Cupcake Cuties Cafe & Bakery - 8363 NC Hwy. 109 Units A & C, Wallburg
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

We are so excited to host cookies with Mrs.Claus! This is a free event for our community. Bring your kids to decorate cookies & take pictures with Mrs. Claus. It will be a fun morning! It is free but please rsvp so we will know how many cookies to make.

Anything for Our Youth Tinsel Tangle Holiday Craft Show
Where: 119 W. Third Ave. Event Center - Lexington
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Just in time for the Christmas holiday season come out and enjoy a day shopping for some holiday goodies. Our Tinsel Tangle Holiday Craft Show is sure to have all kind of great items to choose from throughout the day! There will be lots of sweet treats, t-shirts, baked goods, chicken pies, jewelry, clothing, special crafts, raffles and more.

Holiday Parade of Authors
Where: Pig City Books - 16 Court Square, Lexington
Time: 10:00am-4:00pm

Pig City Books is celebrating the holidays with a Parade of Authors on Saturday, Dec. 3rd. Our slate of authors include the NYT bestselling author, Charlie Lovett, along with Darren Harrell, Val Nieman, Grace Marcus and Frank Morelli. Books will be available for purchase as well as personalization by the authors. Free gift wrapping available for all books purchased that day.

We are also raising money for the Pastor's Pantry, a nonprofit food pantry which provides monthly groceries to senior adults (age 60-plus) in financial crisis and assists others with emergency food in Davidson County. Up for grabs is a raffle basket filled with books and merchandise valued at over $200! Tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10. Every dollar raised for Pastor's Pantry buys $12 of food from Southern Harvest

Photos with Santa (for your pets)
Where: Midnight Kennel Supply - 5386 N. NC 150, Lexington
Time: 11:00am-2:00pm

We would like to invite you are your furry loved ones to come join us for photos with Santa. You can get a picture taken of your pet(s) with Santa Claus free of charge. We can take a photo for you or you can take it with your camera. These pictures can be framed or make great Christmas Cards. We will also give your pet a treat. When you stop by for your visit with Santa, you can enter a drawing to win a Christmas gift basket!

Cookies & Cocoa with Santa
Where: Rock Outdoors - 7440 NC Hwy 8, Lexington
Time: 12:00pm-4:00pm

Santa is making another stop at Rock Outdoors on December 3rd in Lexington! Come enjoy cookies and cocoa with Santa and be sure to let him know what you want for Christmas. He may even have a special surprise for each child! Professional photography will not be available but please feel free to bring your own cameras.

Hot Coco with The Grinch
Where: FUEL Tyro - 4344 S. NC Hwy 150, Lexington
Time: 9:00am-2:00pm

Second annual hot chocolate with the grinch! (Santa may make an appearance too!) Feel free to come by and take a picture with the grinch! There is no purchase required to take pictures!

Our shop will be open for regular business hours, hot coco, energy drinks, shakes, coffee and all will be available!

Thomasville Christmas Parade
Where: Downtown Thomasville
Time: 11:00am

Bring your family and friends to Downtown Thomasville for our annual Christmas Parade! Grab your chairs and a blanket and gather through the streets while we celebrate Christmas as a community.

There will be face painting and balloon animals inside The Depot from 10:30am-12:30pm. We will also have a stilt walker walking Main Street for your entertainment. Let's spread cheer this year and have a great time!

Holiday Movie Matinee at The Smith

Storytime with Mrs. Candy

Join us for a kids Christmas story time! Ms Candy (a retired librarian and Christy’s mom) will be reading special Christmas stories to all the kids. It is free to the community and a special time.

Line Dance Christmas Party
Where: Midway Music Hall & Event Center - 11141 Old Us. Hwy 52 Ste. 2B. Winston-Salem (event center is within Davidson County)
Time: 6:00pm-9:00pm

Bring a food dish for all to share - we will have a food sign up sheet posted here on Facebook. Please comment what you plan to bring.

We will be playing line dance games for door prizes. We will also be doing a gift exchange. Bring a $5.00 gift to participate in the gift exchange. Line dance music will be DJ'd. Everyone is welcome.
