Culvert Replacement Begins in Davidson County

DENTON – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor closed part of a road in Davidson County yesterday, August 23 for a seven-week culvert replacement project.

The eastern end of Handy Road near N.C. 109 closed this morning. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 3. Motorists will still have access to residences during the closure.

A detour is in place directing traffic to N.C. 109, Loflin Road, Surratt Road, N.C. 8 and the South Main Street Extension to return to Handy Road.

Motorists should use extra caution and slow down while approaching the work zone and using the detour.
