National Night Out in Lexington is tomorrow

This year marks the 40th birthday of National Night Out with area law-enforcement and the local community gathering to commemorate the event with National Night Out in Lexington on Tuesday, October 1st from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m

National Night Out was founded in August of 1984 by Matt Perskin to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and citizens across the United States. This is the perfect evening to meet and engage your local law enforcement and to see what a great resource that they are.

This year over 38 million neighborhoods will participate nationwide in National Night Out which is fulfilling its goal of fostering positive engagement across countless communities.  Celebrations for National Night Out include food, music, games and free gifts. In addition there is always lots of friendly dialogue and fun moments shared by all. National Night Out is also recognized on the first Tuesday in August by some agencies and on the first Tuesday In October by others.  

In Lexington, National Night Out is being hosted at the following locations:

Washington Park - 100 Bookington Drive

Grimes Park - 25 Hege Drive

4th Street Park - 412 East 4th Street

Lexington Skate Park - 301 West 9th Avenue.
