Davidson County man charged with felony for animal cruelty
On Friday, January 19, 2024, Joseph Scroggs, was charged and arrested for One Felony Count Animal Cruelty and One Misdemeanor Count of Animal Cruelty. On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Jonni Goulding was also charged for One Felony Count Animal Cruelty and One Misdemeanor Count of Animal Cruelty. Mr. Scroggs was scheduled to appear in District Court on February 16, 2024 at 0900 in Lexington, NC. Mrs. Goulding is scheduled to appear in District court on March 20, 2024 at 0900 in Lexington, NC.
On Monday, January 8, 2024 Deputies with Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a Blind, Emaciated Husky type dog, who was abandoned near the Warf Rd/Feezor Rd area. With the help of the Davidson County Animal Shelter, in Lexington, NC and the Neshama Animal Rescue, out of Raleigh, NC, a Social Media Post was made, that ultimately found Mr. Scroggs and Ms. Goulding to be the owner of the dog, in which was dumped in the Feezer Rd area. The dog did receive Emergency Medical Treatment, but despite the efforts, her condition deuterated rapidly and she succumbed to her abuse and neglect.
