Davidson County road to close for pipe replacement

WELCOME – A section of a Davidson County road is scheduled to close temporarily next week while N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews replace a crossline pipe.

Welcome Arcadia Road near Pickett Road will close Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. and is expected to reopen Aug. 13 at 3:30 p.m. or earlier, weather permitting.

While the closure is in place, drivers should use Pickett Road, Lea Meadow and Welcome Arcadia Road as the detour.

Drivers should be mindful of crews working in this area and factor the detour into their commutes.
