Davidson County Sheriff's office makes arrest for sexual abuse involving a child
In August of 2019, Detectives began investigating the report of past sexual abuse on a juvenile. During the investigation, the juvenile attended a forensic interview at the Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center located in Mocksville, North Carolina where the juvenile disclosed sexual abuse by a known subject to the family that occurred in the Lexington Area.
As a result of the investigation, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Franklin Lafleur for two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor and two counts of First-Degree Statutory Sex Offense with a Child on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
After being arrested, Matthew Franklin Lafleur was taken before the Davidson County Magistrate where he was issued a secured bond of $250,000.00 and a court date of October 3, 2023. After appearing before the Magistrate, Matthew Franklin Lafleur was placed in the custody of the Davidson County Detention Center.
