Davidson Duck Derby to Benefit The Arc
Lexington, NC – The Annual Davidson Duck Derby to support programs benefiting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will be held at Lexington Aquatic Park (207 Forest Rose Dr.) June 3rd at 10am. Rubber ducks that have been “adopted” will race to the finish line. First place finisher nets $500, second place an Igloo cooler and floating table tennis game (value $285), third place $100 in Amazon gift cards.
“The Arc of Davidson County’s creative fundraising committee developed this idea last year,” said Executive Director Teresa McKeon. “This unique event provides family fun while raising funds that will support direct services and advocacy.”
Ducks are “adopted” by donors, 1 duck for $10 and 3 ducks for $25. At 10am, rubber ducks will be dropped into the pool and the race will be on! Those interested in adopting a duck may go to https://duckderby2023.square.site/.
McKeon said, “Without the support of our Presenting Sponsor Novant Health and our other sponsors, this event would not be possible.”
