Lexington Farmers Market offering a variety of options to shop local. In a continued effort to make fresh foods more accessible, the Lexington Farmers Market will host multiple markets throughout the week during the Spring and Summer.

“We often hear from customers who want to come to the farmers market but just can't do Saturday mornings,” noted Kivi Leroux Miller, president of the Lexington Farmers Market. “We received a three-year USDA grant in 2021 to experiment with some different locations, days of the week, and times of day. This summer, we'll have farmers markets Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and Thursday evenings at various locations throughout Lexington.”

Below are the dates, times and locations for the markets.

• The Depot: 129 S Railroad St.
Every Saturday, rain or shine, May 6-October 14 from 8am-12pm

• Parkway Plaza: Between Planet Fitness & Dollar Tree
Every Tuesday, weather permitting, May 23-August 29 from 5pm-8pm

• Weathervane Winery: 1452 Welcome-Arcadia Rd.
Sundays, June 4 & 18, July 2 & 16, August 6 & 20, September 3 & 17 from 1pm-4pm

• Behind Conrad & Hinkle Food Market: 6 N. Main St.
Selected Wednesday mornings, weather permitting, beginning June 14 from 8am-12:30pm

• Washington Park and Fourth Street Park (City of Lexington Parks & Rec)
Second and Fourth Thursday evenings, exact schedule to be announced

“Farmers markets aren't just about local fresh food; they’re also about building community,” said Miller. “We love that our partners see that, too, and are excited to work with Weathervane Winery, Conrad & Hinkle, City of Lexington Parks and Recreation, and Parkway Plaza on farmers market locations this summer, in addition to our home base in the Depot District.”

Fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, pastries, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and other items will be available for purchase. All products are grown, baked or made by vendors.

Additional vendors will be at the markets throughout the season. Recipients of SNAP benefits (also known as food stamps) can utilize the ‘Double Your Dollars’ program at any market location. For every SNAP dollar, customers will receive $2 in tokens to spend with vendors. Recipients can double up to $20 of SNAP benefits per day. To swipe a SNAP EBT card in exchange for tokens, see the market manager on duty.
