Since the beginning of the year, the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated have been hard at work giving back to the community. They’ve visited several schools throughout the county including Thomasville Primary, Liberty Drive Elementary, South Lexington and Pickett to deliver snacks and beverages to staff.

In February, for Valentine’s Day, the sorority presented Brad Gaither, Director of Community Relations for Hospice of Davidson County, with stuffed animals they’d collected. The gifts will be distributed to hospice patients. The ladies offer special thanks to Soror Tremonteo Crawford for thinking of others on that special day.

The Lexington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta was chartered April 26, 1985 with Regional Director, Soror Bertha Maxwell Roddey, officiating. The chapter became a part of the South Atlantic Region. To distinguish between the other Lexington Alumnae Chapters, the chapter was later renamed, as Lexington (NC) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. Alice Rucker Henderson became the chapter’s first president. To learn more information about the sorority, visit their website.
