North Carolina has experienced growth in in the job market. We are also seeing more protection for workers requiring accommodations for pregnancy and disabilities. More companies will be coming, so it is very important that we work to grow our workforce and calibrate our aspirations of our youth to the needs of our employers The majority of our skilled trade workers are retiring so we must all remember: “The society that scorns excellence in plumbing, because plumbing is a humble activity, tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because philosophy is an exalted activity. Will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy because neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water.”

We need more employers to invest in training, and grow their staff and schools need to produce more talent, students need to commit to in-demand career options, and we need more athletes to become techletes to win the jobs of the future and grow North Carolina’s economy.
