Faith and Fellowship: The Night After Christmas
If we were thinking in terms of secular times our thoughts would be: the night after Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. But Glory Be To God, we are believers and we know the real story. We know the good news.
Immediately after the birth of Jesus, God sent the angels into the nearby fields to tell the good news to the shepherds, “Suddenly a great company of angels, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest in Heaven and on earth.”
The night after Christ was born, “Thank you God” for teaching us that eight days after the birth of Jesus the Christ, the child was circumcised and was named Jesus (Luke 2:21). And as Mary’s days of purification were complete the family traveled to the temple in Jerusalem where Jesus was presented to the Lord. Luke 2:21-22 - “A sacrifice was offered and the holy baby was blessed by the priest Simon.” We have the gift that keeps on giving.
As we embark upon a new year, let us continue to proclaim the good news of our Lord and Savior. Let us always remember the night after Christmas is when grace came on the scene for the sins of the world. We thank you God for Hebrews 4:16 - “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.”
May we govern ourselves such as the wise men did in Matthew 2:2 “May we follow his star and worship him with a pure heart.”
God teach us in the upcoming year to ponder on a very important question for the new year, what will you do for the King?
May God so richly bless!
