Fire Damages Home on Sunnyside Drive

Fire Damages Home on Sunnyside Drive

LEXINGTON, NC – The Lexington Fire Department responded last night at approximately 11:30 pm to a fire on Sunnyside Drive, where firefighters found a single-family home on fire with heavy smoke showing from the front.

Crews did not know if anyone was living in the home or if any residents may be inside. Because of this, one team began working to extinguish the fire and prevent it from causing further damage, while another crew began searching for potential occupants. The search did not locate any victims or occupants inside the home and could not determine if anyone lived there at the time of the fire.

Firefighters’ rapid response limited the fire damage to one room in the front of the house, and crews cleared the scene shortly after 1 am Wednesday. No firefighters were injured.

Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
