Lexington Housing Community Development Corporation (LHCDC) revealed its new name and logo this afternoon at a ribbon cutting and reception coinciding with its 25th anniversary. To encompass their range of offerings that are available to residents across the county, LHCDC is now Home Solutions of Davidson County, NC (HSDC).
The rebranding discussion began near the end of 2019. Initially, put on hold due to the pandemic, Executive Director Toby Prince noted in a previous press release that “LHCDC has been working on a name change for several years to eliminate any confusion as to the availability of our services. Our new name and logo will remind the community of our programs that are available county wide.”
HSDC list of services include:
Home buyer education
Financial literacy
Budget and credit counseling
Foreclosure prevention
Real estate development
Home rehabilitation
The new logo was designed by Thomasville resident Paxton Taylor of Pax Studio. Taylor desired to incorporate portions of LHCDC’s logo into HSDC’s design. The house remains and the arrows pointing up represent improvement.
Before the crowd in attendance was able to get the first look at the redesign, Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce CEO, Joe Wallace, shared information about the former LHCDC’s formation. Lexington Mayor Newell Clark applauded the organization for its dedication to the citizens of Davidson County.
“I want to congratulate you on 25 years. The service you provide is beyond home ownership. You do urgent repairs and financial literacy classes. What you offer is valuable to our community. It’s important that we lift up and recognize those who give back. You reach out to those beyond our corporate borders to give hope to those in need.”
