From Sen. Jarvis' Senate Desk: August 6, 2021
Dear Friends,
This week House Bill 96 passed with overwhelming support in both chambers. This bill ensures that no child can be administered a vaccine without consent from a parent.
As my colleague Sen. Joyce Krawiec said: “Parents know their children the best. They, not the government should have the ultimate say when it comes to their child’s health. Just like other healthcare decisions, parents and their children should talk with their doctor before getting any vaccine.”
I couldn’t agree more and am happy to have supported this legislation.
In addition, the religious exemptions for vaccinations have been updated and are outlined by my friend, Rev. Mark Creech in the article below.
I also had the opportunity to meet some great constituents from my district including the Montgomery County Community College President, Chad Bledsoe. I also was able to meet and sit down with the Montgomery County GOP Chairwoman Deanne Brown.
This week on August 4th our nation celebrated the 231st Birthday of the U.S. Coast Guard! Thank you to all who have served our country’s great Coast Guard both in North Carolina and beyond!
Semper Paratus - Always Ready
As always thank you to our numerous constituents who continue to write, call or email our office. I will never stop fighting for you.
Senator Steve Jarvis
NC District 29
