From Sen. Jarvis' Senate Desk: September 17, 2021
Dear Friends,
It was a slower week than usual here in Raleigh as the budget continued through conference meetings. The new goal is that it will be finalized by the first or second week of October so that the redistricting process can begin.
Chief Justice Paul Newby is doing a 100 Court House Tour through all the counties of North Carolina and will be the first Chief Justice to accomplish this feat over a span of two years. This upcoming Wednesday he will be visiting courthouses in Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Stokes, and Surry counties.
Last Friday, Governor Cooper Vetoed HB 324: Indoctrination in Schools & HB 805 Prevent Rioting and Civil Disorder.
As the redistricting process is underway, there are several community hearings being held in order to allow the public to comment on the process. Eric Holder's Group, "All on the Line" has been hosting training sessions in order to influence the public to comment at these hearings in favor of their partisan efforts to "favorably position Democrats for the redistricting process".
Lastly, it was an honor to attend several 9/11 Remembrance events throughout the district. Thank you to all of the people who have given their lives in serving this great nation and ensuring that we never forget that tragic day.
As always thank you to our numerous constituents who continue to write, call, or email our office. I will never stop fighting for you.
Senator Steve Jarvis,
NC District 29
