Give a kid a coat 36th annual campaign underway

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2023 Give A Kid A Coat campaign kicked off on Friday, January 6, with live events at three A Cleaner World locations in Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem. Joined by The Salvation Army, WGHP/Fox8, and WKZL/ROCK 92, the ask was made to the community to drop off new and/or gently used jackets for families in need. Over 1,500 coats were donated during this year’s kickoff events.

"Give a Kid a Coat has become a staple for Rock 92 and A Cleaner World. Year after year I am amazed at the giving power from families helping others right here in the Triad.” Chris Kelly -2 Guys Named Chris Show Rock 92 Brian Harrell, VP of A Cleaner World said, “To kick off our campaign with over 1,500 jackets donated is a true testament to the support of our community.”

We would also like to thank AAA Storage, the North Carolina RV Dealers Association Show, and Go Green Plumbing who are media sponsors for the 2023 campaign.

The Piedmont area Give A Kid A Coat program has collected and cleaned 949,079 coats since the campaign’s inception in 1987. The 2023 campaign will end on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Residents wishing to participate can bring their outgrown coats or coats no longer being worn to any A Cleaner World location. Coats will be cleaned, repaired, and given to The Salvation Army for distribution to children and adults in need. For Davidson County, coats can be dropped off at A Cleaner World in Thomasville located at 801 Julian Ave, Thomasville, NC 27360.
