Welcome Meet & Greet is also open to life-long residents of Lexington
The local multiplier effect takes place when money is spent locally. The idea is that you don’t only benefit the person you do business with and it recirculates in the economy.
The Welcome Meet & Greet is designed for newcomers to unpack the local business environment.

Have you relocated to Davidson County within the last two years?
The Welcome Meet & Greet is also open to life-long residents of Lexington, Thomasville, Welcome and throughout Davidson County who would like to welcome new residents and share their stories of the area.
It is sponsored by the Lexington Tourism Authority, Lexington Chamber, Northern Davidson County Chamber, Thomasville Chamber and Generational Transitions.
Small business owner Melissa Darr with Generational Transitions recommended this event after having unpacked for several newcomers in the last two years and welcoming new business owners and new neighbors to the area. “There's a need to show what our area has to offer for all instead of relocating and not knowing who to call for when a need arises.”
This event is open to its members as well as any Chamber or non-chamber businesses, nonprofits, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Thomasville Chamber of Commerce and Northern Davidson County Chamber of Commerce.
Culture can play an active role in the transitions. Invited are eco-social arts practitioners to share their practice in these areas.
Darr said, "This event was created by Generational Transitions with the support of Morgan and Michelle at the Lexington Visitor Center and was also supported through marketing by the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Thomasville Chamber of Commerce and Northern Davidson County Chamber of Commerce."
The location should provide ample parking and not interfere with Conrad & Hinkle since they traditionally are closed on Wednesdays. Darr said, “This location is great too because it’s the heart of our community."
"This is the first event we believe offered like this and we hope to make this a successful welcoming and tradition as our community grows," Darr added.
The event will share the services, community involvement to newcomers with over 17 vendors who will set up on Wednesday for the 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Welcome Meet & Greet.
