Hospice of Davidson County 17th Annual Ride for Angels set for July

Hospice of Davidson County will hold its 17th Annual Ride for Angels fundraising event on Saturday, July 20th.

Hospice of Davidson County (HODC) will host its 17th Annual Ride for Angels motorcycle fundraising event at Denton FarmPark on Saturday, July 20th with registration check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. Early rider and passenger registration is now available at a discounted rate through June 20th. Regular rider and passenger registration will continue until the event begins at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is not required but strongly encouraged; all registration information can be located under the “Events” tab on the HODC website.

“We are excited to continue our honored traditions of the annual Ride For Angels t-shirts, pins and rockers bars,” explained Christina Davenport, Director of Community Relations. “We are also introducing new opportunities this year and looking forward to our community joining with us for this much-loved event!” Registration will close and the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. with brief program remarks including rider safety reminders and sponsorship acknowledgements. The ride, a 75-mile route planned and escorted by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department, will begin at 11:00 a.m. The day will also include raffle opportunities and boxed lunches provided by Shanna’s Catering and Confections for all riders and passengers.

“The annual ride is a community tradition that brings together individuals from across county lines. It is inspiring to hear bike enthusiasts and attendees share stories of their loved ones who continue to hold significant meaning in their lives,” shared Chief Executive Officer, Laura Owen. “Many riders have formed friendships over the years giving the fundraiser an authentic ‘homecoming’ atmosphere that allows for a time of reconnection and honoring the legacies of those who have passed, but are not forgotten.”

A meaningful way to honor and remember loved ones during this event is to purchase a t-shirt sponsorship. The t-shirt sponsorship allows for the name of a loved one to be printed and displayed on the back of the annual t-shirt. All sponsorships must be purchased by June 28th to ensure inclusion on the t-shirt.

Fundraising efforts like the annual motorcycle ride ensure that no one is denied supportive services when needed most. So far in 2024, HODC has provided more than 425 Charitable Care days for community members. HODC’s mission is to ensure the exceptional hospice benefit is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Charitable Care days would not be possible without our event sponsors, riders, passengers, and community partners. A special thank you to our PRESENTING SPONSOR: Michelle Epley of Southern Key Realty and BRONZE SPONSORS: First Bank and Steve Jackson of Edward Jones. An additional thank you to our t-shirt sponsors and community donors.

The HODC website and social media platforms will share updated information regarding additional opportunities to gather, register, and purchase t-shirts prior to the event. Let’s Ride!
