It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year with the kids jingle belling and everyone telling you to be of good cheer. It's the most wonderful time of the year.”

You know the song, don’t you?

It’s the Christmas season and it's the time of year when we are supposed to be happy. Can you imagine the manger scene where Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus gather together with all the animals and Shepherds? What a beautiful picture.

Perhaps for some of us, the idea of celebrating the Christmas season seems exciting. Then, there are others that may feel far less excited about the most wonderful time of the year. Let us now celebrate the real reason for this Christmas season.  Let us rejoice, for we know that our Savior was born, now therefore let us remember!

The word of God teaches us in the scripture Luke 2:15-18, “Oh come let us adore him.” God sent his son to be the only savior of the world.  It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Grace makes us so happy during this Christmas season. Let us shed light on hope, on the hope  we can find in the darkness. What a great hope it is to share with people this season. To share with the people that are struggling with the pressure and despair of this world. For some people, this season can be crushing and a heavy burden to bear.

Reflect on John 1:4-5, “The word gave life to everything that was created and his life brought life to everyone, The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it.”

Let’s celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

Let us forget about the grinch that stole Christmas because Jesus wants to turn bad news to good news. Jesus wants to give you gladness instead of mourning, Jesus wants to heal your broken-heart. There is good news. It is the most wonderful time of the year. May grace, peace and mercy be with you during this Christmas season. It is no secret the countdown to Christmas is in full swing.

Jeremiah 29:11, teaches us “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and the future.”

Yes, our hope is in his plan for the most wonderful time of the year.

As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember, even if things are going wrong, God is at work for you this season. God is holding onto you. Let the joy of this season give you strength to make it through the stores through the traffic and your neighborhood with a smile on your face for it is the most wonderful time of the year.

May God So Richly Bless!
