A five year Barbecue Festival tradition is changing locations this year.

The Jammin at The AMP Pre-Pig Shindig will be held Thursday, October 26 at Breeden Amphitheater - 333 S. Main St. - from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. Featured at the event will be Jim Quick and Coastline as well as On the Border-Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band.

Representative for Jim Quick and Coastline, Sarah Leach, had this to say about the band’s upcoming performance. “Jim Quick and Coastline is proud to be an integral part of the long standing tradition of the Barbecue Festival.  Our year would not seem complete without bringing the sounds of Swamp Soul to Lexington, NC.  Being asked to help kick off this event is certainly an honor!”

There is no entry fee for the event. However, attendees are asked to bring five cans of non-perishable items to the gate. A truck from Pastor’s Pantry will be stationed at the entrance and the goal is to fill it up.

Stephanie Saintsing Naset, Barbecue Festival executive director, is looking forward to the kickoff event.

“Join us for a fun evening at the Breeden Amphitheater and enjoy fantastic live music while supporting our effort to put food on the shelves at Pastor's Pantry. Last year, we collected an impressive 895 pounds of food at the event, and this year, we are aiming to exceed that number. Your donations will help this organization continue to meet the needs of our community, and we believe that no one should have to go hungry. Let's come together to make a difference and help those in need.”
