We have needs in all three areas.
What are the qualifications needed to be a substitute?
Completion of the LCS Substitute Training Orientation or effective substitute training through the community college or approved agency.
Ideal candidates for substitute teaching?
Adults who desire to impact students positively.
How much do substitutes get paid?
$80 a day for non-certified teachers or $103 for NC Certified teachers.
How often can substitutes work?
Up to five days a week in a long term role or three days a week for short term assignments
How are substitutes contacted when needed?
Currently, schools contact approved substitute teachers.
What is the application process to be a substitute?
Interested candidates can apply through the LCS job board at www.lexcs.org.

What are the responsibilities of a substitute?
Supervising and teaching students in assigned classrooms.
