Local teachers can apply for scholarships

Davidson County offers a scholarship for teachers. Applicants can obtain an award up to $5,000 by applying to the county’s scholarship for teachers.
In order to qualify, you must be resident of Davidson County (at least 6 years of residency before college), a permanent homeowner, enrolled or accepted into a post-secondary institution with a 2.8 GPA or higher, have taught for at least three years in Davidson County, Lexington City, or Thomasville City, and lastly, acquire a North Carolina teaching certification in the beginning of senior year at college.
