Joel Sandman: United Way of Davidson County names 2023 Campaign Chair

Davidson County, NC – The Board of Directors of the United Way of Davidson County is pleased to announce that Joel Sandman, Broker/Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and United Way Board Member, will serve as the 2023-2024 United Way Campaign Chair.
Sandman has been a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Davidson County since January 2022. He is married to his wife, Erin Sandman and has two children, Landon (6) and Aubrey (3). Sandman has been in real estate for six years and is a resident of Davidson County. He earned a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, playing golf, hiking and cooking. “I believe in supporting the United Way because everyone has their struggles and occasionally needs help. It’s our duty to help others when we can. For the community to thrive, we need to invest in our people,” stated Sandman.
Eddie Bowling, Assistant City Manager for the City of Thomasville and Chair of the United Way of Davidson County Board, stated, “Joel is a difference maker and recognizes the importance of the UWDC campaign and how it effects our ability to fund positive, life-changing programs through the partner agencies we support in Davidson County. We are thrilled to have him leading the campaign efforts for the 2023 campaign.”
Kristie Hege, President of the United Way of Davidson County stated, “Joel is a tremendous asset to the United Way Board and to the Campaign. Although he has only served on the board for a little over a year, he has jumped right in and made a huge impact. Joel joined our iPLEDGE program, an initiative to target individuals who want to give back to the community but aren’t tied to a workplace campaign. He

He is passionate about helping others and believes in our mission to meet the human service needs. I am both honored and excited to work with Joel.”
The United Way of Davidson County’s 2023-2024 Campaign kicks off on July 28th with a breakfast at the J. Smith Young YMCA. The official campaign begins August 1st.
