Journey to Bethlehem with Tyro Methodist celebrates 15 years of glad tidings

“Look Mom, I see Jesus!” shouted a six year old boy in a van with the side door open to allow for the optimal viewing. Jesus can be spotted in thirteen of the thirty three scenes as you drive though Journey to Bethlehem. “We wouldn’t miss this family tradition! We bring our grandchildren every year” said a grandmother who has attended Journey to Bethlehem the past four years. “What a great opportunity to begin this special season and share the meaning of Christmas with them” she added.

On Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd , Tyro Methodist Church is celebrating the 15th year of Journey to Bethlehem. Everyone is invited to attend this free, drive through event depicting life as it was during Jesus’ lifetime. Over 150 men, women and children in costume portray a working village as it might have been on any given day. Census takers will greet you as you enter, Roman soldiers on horseback travel through the village and you will see favorite Bible Stories in chronological order. Children will delight in seeing the live animals including horses, cows, goats, donkeys and CAMELS!
