Lexington City Council agenda Jan. 22
The Lexington City Council will hold its regular meeting Monday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in council chambers of city hall, 28 West Center Street.
The following items are on the agenda:
There will be a proclamation from the city recognizing Black History Month in February.
The Lexington Police Department will present Lifesaving Awards, which will be followed by a period for public comment. Anyone wishing to speak will need to sign up prior to the meeting on a list outside the meeting room or in advance in writing. Residents are asked to share their names and address for the record.
Several items are scheduled for public hearing and approval, including closure of a portion of Anne Street right of way, and closure of Anne, Emlee and Choyce Streets.
There will be an update on the pending Lexington Social District, which includes an update to the district’s maintenance plan and registration of ABC permittees in the district.
There will be discussion of opportunities for city funding for local organizations including an outline of the application process.
City Manager Johnny Taylor will make his regular report following agenda items and council members will have an opportunity to report on organizations they represent..
