Lexington City Schools offers make up day

Lexington City Schools has announced a make up day for students to replace instructional hours lost to a system wide closure due to inclement weather on December 3rd. The makeup day is scheduled for December 20th. A school makeup day in North Carolina is a day that a local school board schedules to make up for a day that school was closed due to inclement weather. The board can designate any day after the last day of student attendance as a makeup day.

North Carolina schools must have at least 185 days or 1,025 hours of instruction per year. A full school day in North Carolina is considered to be 5.5 hours of instructional time.
