Local Veteran receives complimentary new roof from businesses
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is giving back to a local U.S. Military Veteran. Carroll Dornhecker Jr., a U.S. Army veteran, will receive a new roof from Skywalker Roofing, an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project on Monday, December 16th. Through a partnership with Purple Heart Homes, Carroll Dornhecker. Jr. was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 625 military members have received new roofs. In 2016, Owens Corning partnered with Platinum Preferred roofing contractors and charitable partners in the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. Through this program, contractors are given the opportunity to volunteer their services to a veteran in need, while Owens Corning donates the roofing materials. With more than 500 veterans having benefited from the program, we will continue to help those that have sacrificed for our country.
Skywalker Roofing is contracted to provide a new roof for Dornhecker. Skywalker Roofing is donating all of the labor.to the home located on West 8th Street in Lexington. The work will begin at 8 a.m.
