Lexington Farmers Market to hold pop-up market
The Lexington Farmers Market will add another day to its weekly schedule with a pop-up market on Wednesday mornings starting June 16 in the back parking lot of Conrad Hinkle Food Store in Lexington.
The pop-up market will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and will be located at the corner of Center Street and Barbeque Alley. Several vendors from the Lexington Farmers Market will be on hand with produce, plants, eggs, and other farm goods.
This will be the fourth year that the Lexington Farmers Market has opted to move the Wednesday market uptown instead of holding it at the old freight depot on Railroad Street. “The customers seem to be quite excited to see us uptown”, said Beth Leonard, one of the Lexington Farmers Market vendors,
“so we are definitely excited to do it again. We are very appreciative that Conrad Hinkle allows us to use their back parking lot while they are closed on Wednesdays. It has worked out very well.” The Wednesday morning markets are planned to begin on June 16 and continue every Wednesday through July. Only farms certified by the farmers market and Agricultural Extension are allowed to vend at the pop-up market. The Lexington Farmers Market is also open every Saturday morning from 8 am to noon at the old freight depot on Railroad Street.
