Lexington Live Community Theatre announces production of White Christmas
Lexington Live Community Theatre is pleased to announce the production of White Christmas
December 8th -11th.
White Christmas is a musical based on the Paramount Pictures 1954 film of the same name. The book is by David Ives and Paul Blake, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin.
Two World War II vets have become partners in a song-and-dance act after the war. Looking for love, they follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters to a gig at a Vermont lodge, which happens to be owned by their former army commander General Waverly.
The production will be at Arts/Theatre 202, the new home for Lexington Live Community Theatre, Arts Davidson County and Lexington Youth Theatre. The address is 202 N. Main Street, Lexington, NC. Show dates and times are December 8 , 9 , and 10 at 7:30 p.m. and
December 10 and 11 at 2:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for seniors (62+) and children (18 and under). Tickets can be purchased through the website – www.lexingtonlive.org.
Thao Nguyen is the director, Christopher Kiser is the music director and Sam Stowe is the Choreographer. Jenny Lawrence is our sound designer, Andy Stuart is our light designer, Thomas Buckley is our set designer, and Amanda Feliciano is our costume designer. Julie Meyer, President of Lexington Live is the production manager. She is so excited to have Lexington Live bring this amazing musical to the stage in Lexington. “Our cast and crew are comprised of over 90% of people from the Lexington/Davidson County area. Our mission is to educate, enrich, and entertain by engaging and uniting the diverse community of Lexington through the universal appeal of performing arts. With so many people involved in many different ways, we are seeing our mission come to light!” She also said “ since officially organizing as a 501C3 organization in December 2019, we have had some starts and stops along the way because of Covid, but we are back – full steam ahead! In addition to White Christmas, we are also presenting Fences in February 2023 (during Black History Month) which will be directed by Lexington native, James Littlejohn and Sister Act in April 2023.”
