Lexington man murders his wife and friend in Rowan County

Jonathan Davon Freeman, 44 of Lexington was arrested by Rowan County Sheriff Deputies on the morning of Saturday, September 14, 2024 and charged with double homicide in Woodleaf, N.C.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Amanda Burr, placed a 911 call stating that an acquaintance by the name of Jonathan Freeman sent her a text containing a photo of her husband, Brandon Burr dead in their home from injuries from an apparent gunshot.
It was later discovered that Jonathan Freeman also shot and killed his wife, Terri Freeman and that her body was too inside of the home.
Deputies, upon arrival found Jonathan Freeman on the scene of the murders. He admitted to them that both his wife, Teri and Brandon Burr were both deceased inside as a result of being shot by him.
The property, located at 1212 Old Oak Lane which was the home of Brandon and Amanda Burr, was searched after a warrant was obtained to collect evidence. Investigators also shared that Freeman made incriminating calls to several people after the murders confessing to the crimes.
Freeman was arrested and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond. He will have his first appearance in court on Tuesday, September 17th.
