Lexington parks and recreation is bringing the holiday cheer
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but what do you do when the turkey is finished and the Black Friday shopping is done? For most people, this is when the Christmas decorations go up, and the holiday season really gets underway. (we aren’t talking about people that start listening to Christmas music in September… nothing we can do to help y’all). The same is true for us, and what better way to kick things off than with a holiday poem?
The weather is cooling and all around,
blessings and warm feelings did abound
Time to spend with your nearest and dearests,
and time to get into the holiday spirits.
We made an event list, and checked it twice,
Here, have a look, please take our advice.
Holiday themed events and classes,
So snuggle up and grab your glasses.
Start by decorating a yummy Christmas treat,
A gingerbread house that looks good enough to eat
Then light up the block with friends and neighbors
Will you be crowned the best? Depends on all on your labors
Do you need a Christmas picture for your little elf?
Come to Finch Park and see the Grinch himself
Then do crafts and stories with him over zoom,
Eating breakfast in jammies in your living room.
Gifts from the heart can mean so much
Baked goods, crafts, activities and such.
Fun for the little kids and teens for sure
Learn about candies, s’mores, ornaments, and more.
So next time you are online looking for a recipe to cook
Stop by our registration site or check out our Facebook
We have a lot of fun and think you will too,
It is bound to be a blast; we can’t wait to see you.
P.S. Ranger will be back in just a few weeks
So be on the lookout for those rosy red cheeks!
