Lexington Utilities earns high honor

Lexington Utilities has earned a Diamond Level Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)® designation from the American Public Power Association for providing reliable and safe electric service.

The RP3 designation, which lasts for three years, recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement. Criteria include sound business practices and a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity. A RP3 designation is a sign of a utility's dedication to operating an efficient, safe and reliable distribution system. Being recognized by the RP3 program demonstrates to community leaders, governing board members, suppliers, and service providers a utility’s commitment to its employees, customers and community.

Currently, approximately 270 of the nation’s more than 2000 public power utilities hold an RP3 designation. Through perseverance of excellence in electric service provision, Lexington was awarded the highest placement which is the RP3 Diamond designation.

Congratulations to all of the Electric Department Employees on this honor. We are able to be a Reliable Public Power Provider because of your hard work and dedication to powering this community.
