LFD responds to House Fire on Moore Drive

LEXINGTON, NC – On Monday, December 13, at 3:48 am, Lexington Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 403 Moore Drive.

Lexington firefighters noticed moderate smoke and fire conditions showing from the front when they arrived. Lexington Fire crews began working to extinguish the fire and search the home's inside for any possible occupants.

The fire was quickly brought under control, and the search revealed no occupants were in the home. The on-call Lexington fire investigator determined the origin and cause of the fire was an electric space heater located too close to combustible materials.

The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the displaced occupants, and Davidson County EMS responded for medical standby for fire crews. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.
