LFD responds to structure fire on Park St.
LEXINGTON, NC – On Saturday, March 4, the Lexington Fire Department responded to a reported fire in a single-family residence with occupants possibly still inside.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire and smoke showing from all sides of the residence. Firefighters began attending to the occupants and began working to extinguish the fire. Neighbors advised that two occupants were in the backyard and needed medical care.
Two adjacent structures became involved due to proximity, and Lexington requested assistance from other fire companies.
In total, the fire displaced eleven occupants. The Red Cross assisted with finding temporary housing for those occupants.
The Lexington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire with the assistance of the Davidson County Fire Marshal’s Office.
