Local events to fill your social calendar
The first weeks of January 2024 are beginning on a high note with lots to do! Here are a few interesting local events that will appeal to everyone.
January 05- From 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM Smoke & Oak located at 127 West Center Street Uptown Lexington hosts a day to benefit Anything For Our Youth Group.
January 06- The Davidson County Winter Farmers Market is being held at Bull City Ciderworks in Lexington from Noon until 3:00 PM. Find fresh, local seasonal produce, meats, eggs, pastries, jams, breads, baked goods, crafts and other items. All products sold at the market are grown, baked or made by the vendors. SNAP/ EBT will be accepted at this market.
January 09- Arts Davidson County located at 202 North Main Street in Lexington is offering a free grant writing workshop for all non-profit organizations interested in applying for the Grass Roots Grant. For more information contact Executive Director Amanda Feliciano at 336 237 0823. The workshop times are 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Davis-Townsend’s Spirit Night is being held at Chick -Fil-A in Lexington from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Be sure to tell your server that you are with Davis-Townsend PTO and a percentage of the proceeds will be returned to the school for both dine-in and take-out orders.
January 13- Davidson County NAACP 37th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet beginning at 5:00 PM at Commons on the Green 200 Country Club Drive in Lexington. Tickets are $25 each and available from NAACP members.
-The Elvis Tribute Dinner Show at Childress Vineyards. Immerse yourself in a live performance that celebrates the iconic music of Elvis Presley. Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the 50s by dressing in their finest attire from that era. As an added incentive, the best-dressed individual will win a prize. Mingling begins at 6:00 PM followed by dinner and a show at 7:00 PM. Tickets are required and all guests must be 21 years or older.
-Bull City Ciderworks presents Harry Potter Trivia Night at 9:00 PM. All aboard the Hogwarts Express! It’s time to start the Winter term and Quidditch season off right with Harry Potter Trivia. Come out dressed for your favorite house and see who will “catch the snitch” for the win.
January 14- American Cornhole Organization Competition- Season 19 is hosted by The Lexington Moose Lodge. To register or for more information visit the link below.
January 15- Davidson County NAACP’s Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. Beginning at 1:00 PM on Main Street in Lexington.
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Art Exhibition & Gallery Event. Anything for Our Youth Group is hosting a youth art exhibition and gallery event at Arts Davidson County located at 202 North Main Street in Lexington at 5:00 PM. The art contest is open to youth ages K-12th grade. All submitted entries need to be dropped off at Arts Davidson County January 02, 2024 through January 09, 2024 between 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Awards will be presented at this event to the contest winners.
