Local larceny ring charged with numerous crimes
On June 18, 2024, Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team, assigned to the Special Investigations Division, assisted officers with the Denton Police Department with a felony larceny investigation that occurred at the business of OPE of America in Denton on June 17th.
During the investigation Detectives developed leads and identified the suspects involved in the larceny as well as identified numerous residences where the chainsaws were last seen or could possibly be located at. As the investigation evolved numerous individuals were arrested and charged with a variety of criminal violations as the result of the investigation.
On June 19, 2024, Nathan Ward of Lexington was arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Ward was also issued a citation for driving while license revoked and displaying a fictitious registration plate.
On June 21, 2024, Skilar Hall and Mason Moore both of Thomasville were identified as the suspects involved in the theft of the chainsaw’s and were arrested. Skilar Hall was charged with felony possession of stolen property, felony larceny and obtaining property by false pretense. Mason Moore was charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property.
On June 22, 2024, Angela Hardin of Thomasville was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver fentanyl, sell and deliver fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of Schedule VI and misdemeanor child abuse.
On June 22, 2024, Teresa Hardin of 105 Dusty Lane, Thomasville was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine by possession, possession of alprazolam and misdemeanor child abuse. Over 35 grams of Methamphetamine was seized from her at the residence.
On June 22, 2024, Karen Watkins of Thomasville was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Karen was also served with several outstanding warrants from Guilford and Brunswick Counties.
On June 22, 2024, Ashley Musick of Thomasville was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On June 25, 2024, Detectives identified Felesha Wiles as the person who was attempting to sell the stolen chainsaws. Felesha was arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property, identity theft and attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
On June 28, 2024, during the continuation of the chainsaw investigation Detectives arrested Kelsey Bedford at 308 Shell Road, Thomasville after she was found to be a wanted fugitive by Probation and Parole for absconding probation. Bedford fled on foot from the residence into the wooded area where she was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
On June 28, 2024, Casey Passmore of Thomasville was arrested on outstanding warrants for failure to appear out of Davidson and Randolph Counties after Detectives went to 304 Lovette Road, Thomasville to further investigate the chainsaw incident.
On June 28, 2024, Detectives went to 212 Abbid Street, Lexington to arrest Colton Smith for his participation in the larceny after he was identified as the driver of the vehicle during the incident. Colton was arrested and charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of burglary tools, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon further investigation Detectives searched Coltons bedroom and found stolen mail, drivers license, social security cards, forged checks as well as uncashed checks. As a result of the investigation Colton was additionally charged with (17) counts of possession of stolen property and attempting uttering. In a collaborative effort with officers from the Lexington Police Department it was found that some of the stolen items were from a recent vehicle break-in in Lexington City which Colton used a financial card of one of the victims. Colton was charged by Lexington Police Department with breaking and entering to motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense and financial card theft.
On June 28, 2024, Jamie Liston was also arrested at 212 Abbid Street, Lexington and charged with possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and (17) counts of possession of stolen property and one count of attempted uttering.
Pamela Bundy of 105 Dusty Lane, Thomasville is WANTED by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office for felony maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled substance. The investigation involving the chainsaws and the identification of other suspects are ongoing at this time
