LPD arrest suspect in exploitation of a minor case

LEXINGTON, NC - On March 3, 2023, Lexington Police Department’s Patrol Division was informed of a suspect printing and collecting images of juvenile females. Lexington Police  Department’s Special Victims Unit began an investigation. This investigation identified 71- year-old James Larry Spranza as the suspect. 

On March 6, Lexington Police Detectives executed a search warrant on Spranza’s residence on  Hettie Drive with the assistance of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal  Investigations Division. Spranza was charged with 2nd degree exploitation of a minor. Spranza  is in the Davidson County Jail under a $50,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in  Lexington District Court on April 28, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. 

The investigation is ongoing.
