Faith and Fellowship: We are Kingdom Citizens

Faith and Fellowship: We are Kingdom Citizens

Our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await the Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20. There is an eternal city yet to come, whatever your nationality may be, If you are a child of God, you are a citizen of the Kingdom, there is an advantage, the Kingdom is not a physical Kingdom, It is a Spiritual one. And it begins in the heart of a person, when God reign in the heart. Once you are born again, you will have access to the Kingdom of God.

There are many benefits that comes with being a Citizen of the Kingdom, As a citizen you are under God’s Lordship. Matthew 16:24, then Jesus said to the disciples,” whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me”. As a citizen you are under God’s protection, If you belong to God you are safe and no one or nothing can snatch you out of his hands. Your salvation is protected in our Savior.

As a Kingdom Citizen you are under God’s Provision. Under his provision, God has promised to make every provision for you. Matthew 6:31:3, But seek ye first his Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. As a citizen of the Kingdom you surrender to God’s purpose, as believers we should all be sharing the gospel, making disciples, praying and doing what God has asked of us to do.
Matthew 6:10, “Your Kingdom come your will be done, on earth as it in In Heaven.

The ultimate reward of being a Citizen of the Kingdom, is that we shall spend eternity in the presence of our King!

Philippians 3:20 teaches us, For our citizenship is in heaven from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not really citizens of this world, we are citizens of Heaven, making our way through the world. Being a citizen of Heaven leaves us as sojourners in this world. As sojourners we realize that this world is not our home, we are only passing through.

This wonderful citizenship grants us eternal life and glorification through the faith in Jesus Christ. Our names are written in the Lamb book of Life. And future promise of our eternal security as citizens in the heavenly city.

As we meditate on the word of God this week, let us remember as citizens of Heaven, Christ has blessed us with Spiritual blessings in heavenly places. We have such glorious promises both now and in the future to come. In the Precious name of JESUS!

May God so richly bless!!!
