New group aims to spread L.O.V.E.

New group aims to spread L.O.V.E.

By Davidson Local

Thomasville-based community advocate Tina Royal has been working informally to help resolve local issues from housing to medical. Now, she is forming L.O.V.E. which stands for: "Let Our Voices Echo," a committee with the objective to bridge the gap between citizens and public organizations. L.O.V.E. aims to help resolve issues between those groups, primarily addressing when a citizen feels s/he has been treated unfairly.

Royal is planning a virtual meeting on March 31 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. An interest form is attached to the group’s social media page.

The goal is for L.O.V.E. to establish an official group inviting people who are interested to join the committee. “I want to spread LOVE in our community and bring this community together. You know that saying that it takes a village? We can be the voice for people who cannot be heard. Sometimes people are just being overlooked or ignored.”

Royal, who will rotate out of her position as the chair of the Davidson County Democratic Party, says the group is social, not political. “This is personal and has nothing to do with politics,” Royal reiterated. “All the work I’ve done to make the relationships, I realized it was to help others along the way.”

She says the group is open to anyone who, too, wants to help with this coalition. The group seeks to recruit those working "from city government to our city schools, businesses, public assistance, public housing, communities and more; it is our time to take back our town and show our Lexington Pride."

Royal added, "It's time to do what's right! Please click this link to join our organization for planning and discussions. It takes a village and it's time the villagers wake up and get to work."
