Davidson County’s local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution paid recognition to the Davidson County Veterans Honor Guard with a Valentine’s themed luncheon during its monthly meeting on February 18 at Pilgrim Reformed Church on Pilgrim Church Road in Lexington. Leonard’s Creek Chapter, NSDAR Regent Susan Weaver said, “This was an amazing experience for our members. These men and women not only served our country in the United States military, but also honor veterans with military graveside rites in Davidson County. We express our deepest gratitude for each of them.”
A catered lunch was provided for the veterans and their guests, followed by presentation of personalized certificates of appreciation and gift bags that included "thank you" artwork from area kindergarteners. The artwork was an opportunity to fulfill one element of the DAR’s mission to provide education to children and youth.
