Our House Community Table hosts Thanksgiving Dinner
This Thanksgiving regardless of if you need a meal or just want to enjoy a delicious and hot meal prepared with love, you are invited. The Our House Community Table Project partners with local sponsors to host a Thanksgiving dinner like no other. “Spoons Full of Love” is the theme for this year's celebration. A theme adopted by the Hargrave Foundation to describe the energy behind the meals that they have been preparing and giving away on Thanksgiving for years.
Join the next OHCTP on Thursday, November 28th at the Fellowship Hall of First Reformed United Church of Christ for their third event of the year.
The inaugural OHCTP event held in August at Harris Park was a success as was a fish fry hosted at Banks- Miller Post #255 on November 2nd. Please click on the link below to read an article about the first event.
The OHCTP is an idea born out of a need for the local community to remain connected and engaged through an ongoing series of events designed to foster conversation, influence growth, gather and share resources and to inspire action. Each event is a chance for the entire community to fellowship and to get together. The OHCTP events are planned for various locations throughout the city, with all event being scheduled months apart.
OHCTP has a goal to identify local “Influencers” to join the project and through OHCTP, help regenerate traditions and rituals in the community which keep us all together, like:
Recognizing Elders & Remembering Ancestors
Recognizing Community Achievements & Life Moments
Reestablish Law Enforcement & Community Connections
Foster Church & Community Connections
Reconnecting & Fellowship Over A Meal.
Local influencers identidfied by OHCTP have been:
DeLisa Holt-Anderson
Julia Harshaw
Lauren Hargrave
Stephen Vinson
Beth Burke
Donnie Holt.
Come see old friends and people that you have not seen in years then sit around and talk, laugh and share. Join in the fun of the evening and a unique day of celebrating togetherness. There will also be local community leaders in attendance for you to meet in person.
Sponsors for the November 28th Thanksgiving OHCTP event include:
